Maria Ogneva

  • Associate Professor of Accounting

Maria Ogneva is an Associate Professor at the Leventhal School of Accounting, Marshall School of Business. Before joining University of Southern California, she served as an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Stanford Graduate School of Business. Maria received her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Economics from Moscow State University and a PhD in Accounting from University of Southern California.Maria’s research focuses on accounting-based risk assessment, accounting information and market efficiency, accounting-based equity valuation, and, more recently, on the link between accounting information and macroeconomy. Her work has been published in the top accounting and finance journals, including Journal of Accounting and Economics, The Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, Journal of Finance, and Journal of Accounting Research. She currently serves as an Associate Editor at Management Science and Journal of Accounting Research. She is a member of editorial boards at The Accounting Review and Journal of Financial Reporting.
