In Fall 2023, the Marshall School of Business and Leventhal School of Accounting will be launching a new undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance. This joint degree captures the essential knowledge required for finance-oriented careers and is available to students graduating in Spring 2024 and beyond.

PROGRAM BENEFITS

  • JOINT DEGREE

    The Accounting and Finance degree is a four-year, 128-unit program offered by Marshall and Leventhal. Diplomas will reflect the names of both schools on graduation. In addition to the core curriculum required for both Marshall and Leventhal students, students can choose from a handpicked and complementary menu of courses in finance and accounting chosen specifically for students interested in finance-oriented careers. The curriculum is centered on real-world knowledge and applications of finance, financial statement information, and analysis.

ACADEMIC OVERVIEW

By the end of the program, students will:
 - Understand and apply core concepts and tools of finance theory and practice
 - Attain technical proficiency in the financial accounting, including using the understanding of financial reporting standards, to facilitate financial decision-making
 - Leverage deep understanding of financial reporting and finance theory along with understanding of different areas of business to address current as well as new and emerging business and financial challenges
 - Be able to communicate clearly and strategically, considering the audience and the objective for communication
 - Be capable and effective leaders who can guide their teams to make the best use of opportunities and to overcome challenges
